Who holds the most of Fayette County's Google Maps top three?

Cannabist, in Beckley: it shows in the top three on 66.7% of the 11 map squares we measured in Fayette County, across all three searches. Greenlight Medical Marijuana Dispensary Beckley (66.7%) and Weed Tiger Inc (33.3%) follow. No store on our list sits in Fayette County: it is measured where the grids of stores in neighbouring counties reach in (11 map squares). This board is dated October 28, 2026.

Who leads each search in Fayette County?

It depends on the search. “dispensary near me”: Cannabist (100.0%); “cannabis near me”: Cannabist (100.0%); “weed near me”: Weed Tiger Inc (100.0%). The same listing rarely leads all three, which is why a ranking plan covers a keyword set rather than one phrase.

Is my Fayette County store on these pages?

No store on our list sits in Fayette County so far, so none has a page here. This board is read from the grids of stores in neighbouring counties that reach in; a store added to our list here gets its own page once it is scanned.

What counts as a lead-gen listing?

We tag a listing lead-gen when its name is spelled with lookalike letters; when the same dispensary-style name sits on three or more listings at different addresses that carry next to no reviews; or when a dispensary-style listing that is not on our store list borrows another company’s brand, or has next to no reviews and a short link for its website or a tagged network’s name. Real chains are excepted, and a check by hand can add the tag to a listing or take it off. Tagged listings stay on every board in the position Google gives them, because shoppers see them there. In Fayette County, tagged listings hold 0% of every top-three slot across the three searches.

How is the share of the map in the top three measured?

We read Google Maps at 121 points around each store on our list, for each search, and place every reading in a map square about a quarter mile on a side. A store’s share is the part of an area’s measured squares where it shows in the top three, counting a square in part when it holds the spot in only some of the readings there. The combined board averages the three searches. Overlapping grids are counted once per square, so a busy downtown does not count twice. The full method: how we measure.

How often is this board updated?

Every scan round re-reads every store's grid, and every page here is rebuilt from the readings; the first round is dated October 24, 2026. This board's readings are dated October 28, 2026.
