Services

A cannabis marketing agency for DuPage County, in twelve services

Twenty-one licensed dispensaries trade in DuPage County, and new applications are paused statewide, so you cannot file your way to a second door here — you have to be found first at the one you have. The rules that door opens under were written where it stands, by your own municipality, or by the county if you sit outside one. Twelve services answer that: three put you where she searches, four build what her tap lands on, three bring her back next month, two keep score. Every row opens the service page behind it, and the two plans below say which of them you get.

Twenty-one doors, no county pack: the DuPage County fight in figures

DuPage County holds 937,142 people and nobody is making more of them. Twenty-one licensed dispensaries divide them, and every order one takes is one that never reached your till. Here is that fight in figures, and our move on each.

Above, four clients’ day zero against the month, in Share of Local Voice: the share of the local pack a store holds for "Dispensary Near Me" across its trade area.

The county's twenty-one licensed dispensaries are the distinct DuPage County addresses on the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Combined License List, the all-cannabis-licenses file updated 31 July 2026, in its active adult-use dispensing organization section; every address on that list was assigned a county with the US Census geocoder and backstopped by the 2020 ZIP-code-tabulation-area to county file. Read on 10 September 2026. An earlier read of an orphaned January 2026 copy of the same list returned a lower DuPage total, and the July file is the one the regulator currently publishes; the July file carries two DuPage addresses the January copy did not, so the county's list moved while applications were paused, and no claim of a closed or frozen field is made from it. No per-municipality dispensary count appears here: the city-level figures carried in the source data come from an earlier parse that undercounted the county, and this address-level read supersedes them. Naperville and Carol Stream are named because the source data records a licensed dispensary in each; no count is given for either, and they are not the whole of the county's list. Population is the US Census Bureau Population Estimates Program Vintage 2024 estimate, 937,142, read on 9 September 2026. The advertising restrictions are 410 ILCS 705/55-20. No sales figure appears, because none was recorded for this county. No economic development region is named for DuPage County, because the region map was not verified.

Twenty-one doors, and three pins.

The state's own license list resolves to twenty-one distinct DuPage County addresses, and that is the field you trade against. Nobody is making a new buyer for it: every shopper here already belongs to somebody, so the only order you add is one a rival stops taking. She opens the map, types, and taps one of three pins, and putting yours in that three, for an agreed keyword set and radius, is what we guarantee in writing.

Where those doors actually sit.

DuPage County zones dispensaries only in its unincorporated areas, and every municipality inside the line writes its own rules independently, so your door opens under whichever rulebook was written where it stands. Naperville and Carol Stream are two of the towns that let one open. What your shopper sees is narrower again: three pins drawn around wherever she stands, never a county list. So we build your profile, your pages and your citations to the town your door opens onto, and draw your rank grid around it, not around a boundary she cannot see.

The only growth left is somebody else's share.

New applications are paused statewide, so you cannot answer a crowded map by opening a second door — the queue you would join is shut. What is left to work is share: not a bigger county, not more buyers, just a larger slice of the same searches, taken off the doors already trading. We move that slice with profile work, citations and a monthly Share of Local Voice report across your own grid, and we scope the guarantee terms to that grid with you on the demo call.

Why a dispensary marketing agency should own the stack

Most dispensaries rent their marketing from four vendors and hope the pieces talk to each other. They rarely do.

Twenty-one licensed dispensaries divide DuPage County's 937,142 residents under municipal rules that change from town to town, so the contest you are actually in is your own town's, and renting your listing, your menu, your texting and your reporting from four vendors that never speak to each other is four invoices paid to lose one map position.

You know the rules you sell under better than any agency does, so this page does not restate them. If you want the references, both are in the library: dispensary advertising rules by state and cannabis marketing compliance.

Your stack is rented from four vendors.

A marketplace listing, a menu vendor, a loyalty or SMS tool and a generic retainer, each with its own login. Fix: one platform (SGEN) and one agency, with the site, the menu and the campaigns in one place.

Local SEO is an upsell tier elsewhere.

The work that puts you in the local pack for "Dispensary Near Me" is often gated behind the top plan. Fix: ranking work is included from the first dollar. Localized on-page SEO, 100+ off-page profiles and Google Business Profile management are in both plans.

Menu traffic leaks to marketplaces.

A shopper who finds your store on a third-party listing is that listing’s customer. Fix: menu-connected SGEN sites keep the order on your domain, with staff updating the menu themselves.

Four invoices, four account managers.

Nobody owns the result. Fix: one point of contact, one monthly report showing what ran, what it cost and what it returned.

What is included

Web design and development are included — no separate build fee.

Local SEO, menu-connected websites, email, SMS and loyalty under one contract.

The number we manage to

New Frontier Data (2026-06-21) put one operator’s cost per new customer at about $23. So we manage the channel that costs the least per visit: the local pack.

Our currency is Share of Local Voice (SoLV) for "Dispensary Near Me" — the share of local-pack visibility your store holds for that search across its trade area, reported with its window and case page.

How the program is scoped inside DuPage County

The twelve services above are the same in every market. What changes for you here is the scope, because DuPage County is not one contest but a set of municipal ones, so your keyword set, your radius, your rank grid and the window your top-three guarantee is written to are all drawn around where your door actually stands, not around the county line.

No delivery block appears here, because nothing in this county's record gives us an Illinois delivery fact we would put our name to. If your license covers it, bring that to the demo call and we scope the service-area grid to what the license actually allows you, not to a figure guessed at here.

If you run one location.

Twenty-one dispensaries trade across DuPage County and no shopper is ever shown all of them, so your real contest is the handful of pins a search draws around where she is standing, not the county total. We write your keyword set, your landing page and your Google Business Profile to the town your door opens onto rather than to the county line, draw the rank grid around your own radius, and report Share of Local Voice across it every month, so you can see which streets you hold and which are slipping. See marketing for the single-location dispensary.

If you hold several across the county.

A group with doors in more than one DuPage municipality is trading under more than one rulebook and in more than one pack at once, and a county-level report averages the quiet town away. So you get one SGEN domain, a page and a Google Business Profile per address, citations built address by address, and a roll-up that carries a row for each location, which puts your weakest town in front of you instead of hiding it inside your strongest. Our top-three guarantee is written the same way, location by location, to each one's own keyword set and radius. See marketing for multi-location dispensaries and MSOs.

Six moves for a DuPage County dispensary while the queue is shut

Applications are paused statewide, twenty-one licensed dispensaries hold DuPage County between them, and each town inside the line decides on its own whether another one opens near you. That leaves six moves worth making, what each is costing you at the till right now, and what we run against it under a top-three guarantee scoped to your keyword set and radius.

Your pack is your town's, never the county's

There is no county-wide map result and there never will be: a shopper in Naperville is shown three pins near Naperville, a shopper in Carol Stream three near Carol Stream, and the county's full twenty-one she never sees at all. That makes your own contest smaller than the county number looks, which is the good news, because a small contest is a winnable one. Google Business Profile management sits in both plans: primary category set right, product and service lists complete, hours current, questions and reviews answered, worked every month, so your pin is one of the three your own town cannot leave out. See the guide: Google Business Profile for dispensaries.

One county line, many town rulebooks, one site architecture

A single page written to the county name chases a phrase your shopper rarely types while losing the town she does type, and it cannot rank in two municipal packs at once. What works instead is a page per location, written to the municipality that location sits in, with the county sitting above them rather than instead of them. That is one architecture decision, made once, and it is the one most often got wrong. We make it on your own SGEN domain, in the build, before the first keyword is chased. See the guide: the cannabis SEO guide.

Read the placement rule as a buying spec, not a restriction

Illinois bars cannabis advertising within one thousand feet of schools, playgrounds, recreation centers, child care, parks, libraries and arcades, keeps it off transit and public property, and rules out consumption imagery, health claims and anything pitched at the under-twenty-ones. That rules out a great deal of ground before you have spent anything. Read as a rule it is a restriction; read as a budget it tells you where your money cannot go before you spend a quarter finding out. What is left is the map, the site and menu she lands on, and the shoppers already on your list, and those are the surfaces we run for you on one contract. See the guide: the cannabis marketing compliance guide.

The address is fixed, so the site is the asset you can still change

Your license sits at one address and new applications are paused, so opening your way out of a crowded town is not on the table while the queue is shut. What is entirely yours to change is what happens after the tap: your pages, your menu integration and your load time, on a domain you own, where the order stays with you rather than with a marketplace renting you back your own shopper. Both plans include that build with no separate build fee, and every pin you hold sends its tap to it. See the guide: the dispensary website design guide.

When the demand cannot grow, the list you own is the cheap channel

Nobody is making new buyers in a county of 937,142 people, and a door opening near you would only split that same demand further, so the growth still available to you is the second and third visit from shoppers you already have. A list you own costs a fraction of what winning a stranger costs, and it is the one channel a better-funded rival cannot outbid you for. The work is deliverability and segmentation rather than creative, and OUTREACH Email is the Enterprise module we run for it, pointed at the menu-connected site every one of your pins already feeds. See the guide: the dispensary email marketing playbook.

Twenty-one doors, and the shopper who comes back is the margin

Twenty-one doors can shuffle their order on the map, but the buyer you keep this quarter is still yours next quarter, and the one you lose walks into a rival that is not going anywhere either. Against a group that can outspend you on winning strangers, the shoppers who already chose you are the one asset nobody can rank away, because it is a relationship rather than a position. Points, tiers, an email list and an SMS list wired into your POS are how you keep it, and that retention layer is what separates our two plans. See the guide: the dispensary loyalty program guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do you guarantee rankings?

A written top-3 local ranking guarantee — Dispenza’s own offer; the keywords, radius and time window are set in your agreement (see terms). Terms apply. Ask for the guarantee terms on your demo call before you sign anything. The guarantee covers the local keyword set agreed for your trade area, over a defined window.

Which platform are the sites built on?

Built on SGEN — the platform every one of Dispenza’s 500+ dispensary sites runs on. SGEN is Dispenza’s in-house website platform, so the team that hosts your site is the team running your campaigns. Menu-connected sites are built to be updated by staff.

What does it cost?

Pricing is scoped to your locations and both plans above list every module in full, with the site build included and no separate build fee. A quote for your store count takes one demo call. See how pricing works.

Do you have an office in DuPage County?

No, and none is needed to move your pin. Dispenza keeps offices in other markets and works every client in the country off the same team. A DuPage County ranking moves on what gets done to your Google Business Profile, your citations, your pages and your monthly report, and none of that is work anyone has to do standing in your dispensary. What we do need from you is the address, the radius and the keyword set we are measured on, and we settle all three with you on the demo call, along with the guarantee terms.

We are in Carol Stream, not Naperville. Does the campaign change?

Yes, and it should. Every municipality in this county writes its own zoning independently, and a search draws its pins around the shopper, so someone standing in Carol Stream is shown a different three pins than someone standing in Naperville. We write your keyword set, your landing page and your profile to the town your door is in, draw the rank grid around its radius, and measure Share of Local Voice point by point across it. A campaign scoped to the county line would be reporting on a map your shoppers never see.

Illinois has paused new dispensary applications. Does that make marketing less urgent?

The opposite. The pause stops you filing for another door; it does not stop the twenty-one already licensed here from trading harder, and nothing your rivals hold comes back to you on its own. What it does mean is that your growth has to come out of the dispensaries already trading, search by search, in the three pins a shopper is actually shown. That is the thing we work, and the top-three guarantee is written to the keyword set and radius we agree with you first.

Illinois barely lets us advertise. Does that shrink what you can run?

It changes where the money goes, not how much of it works. With a one-thousand-foot exclusion around schools, parks, playgrounds and libraries, nothing on transit or public property, and hard limits on imagery and claims, the surfaces that decide a DuPage County shopper's next visit are the ones you own outright: the local pack your dispensary sits in, the site and menu she lands on, and the email, SMS and loyalty that bring her back. Most of our twelve services live on those surfaces. We run them on one contract and report what each returned.

How long until we are in the top three?

A window, not a date, and it goes in writing rather than in a phone call. What sets it is your profile's history, the radius you want covered, and how many of the county's twenty-one dispensaries are already trading inside that radius. The window goes into the same agreement the top-three guarantee is written to, and both are scoped to your address on the demo call, before anything is signed.
