Who leads each search in Amherst?
It depends on the search. “dispensary near me”: The Heirloom Collective (73.7%); “cannabis near me”: The Heirloom Collective (82.9%); “weed near me”: 253 Farmacy Weed Dispensary Amherst (98.8%). The same listing rarely leads all three, which is why a ranking plan covers a keyword set rather than one phrase.

04
What counts as a lead-gen listing?
We tag a listing lead-gen when its name is spelled with lookalike letters; when the same dispensary-style name sits on three or more listings at different addresses that carry next to no reviews; or when a dispensary-style listing that is not on our store list borrows another company’s brand, or has next to no reviews and a short link for its website or a tagged network’s name. Real chains are excepted, and a check by hand can add the tag to a listing or take it off. Tagged listings stay on every board in the position Google gives them, because shoppers see them there. In Amherst, tagged listings hold 0% of every top-three slot across the three searches.
05
How is the share of the map in the top three measured?
We read Google Maps at 121 points around each store on our list, for each search, and place every reading in a map square about a quarter mile on a side. A store’s share is the part of an area’s measured squares where it shows in the top three, counting a square in part when it holds the spot in only some of the readings there. The combined board averages the three searches. Overlapping grids are counted once per square, so a busy downtown does not count twice. The full method: how we measure.
06
How often is this board updated?
Every scan round re-reads every store's grid, and every page here is rebuilt from the readings; the first round is dated October 24, 2026. This board's readings are dated October 27, 2026.
