Off-premises billboards are banned outright here and broadcast is shut from 6am to 10pm, so the shopper goes to whoever she finds first and remembers longest. These twelve do both jobs for your store: three to rank it, four to build it, three to bring her back, two to run the numbers. One team and one invoice, and the plans below say which modules come with which.

Nobody in New Jersey is making new cannabis buyers, and you cannot outspend your way to more of them here: off-premises billboards are banned. Every shopper who walks into a rival's store is a sale that left your till. Here is the size of that fight, and our move on each figure.
Above, four clients’ day zero against the month, in Share of Local Voice: the share of the local pack a store holds for "Dispensary Near Me" across its trade area.
The license counts are the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ-CRC) figures published as of 6 August 2026 and read on 9 September 2026; the medicinal program totals are the same body's 15 August 2026 report; the advertising restrictions are N.J.A.C. 17:30-17.2; population is the US Census Bureau's Vintage 2024 estimate. No statewide sales figure appears here, because none was verified against the Commission's own reporting, and no municipal or county store count appears here for the same reason.
181 licensed doors. 9,500,851 residents. No new buyers.
The Cannabis Regulatory Commission's 6 August 2026 report counts 181 annual retail licenses in a state of 9,500,851 people, and that pool is fixed: the doors multiply, the buyers do not. So your next sale comes off a rival's till, the moment a shopper taps one of the three stores the map shows first. Putting your pin in that three, for a keyword set and radius agreed with you in writing, is what we guarantee.
1,697 conditional licenses, every class counted.
The same report counts 1,697 conditional licenses across every license class, 507 conversions and 359 annual licenses, retail the largest class among them. No class split is published for that pile, so the pin beside yours may not be lit yet. Every month you wait, those three positions cost more to take and to hold. Dispensary SEO is how we take them for you: the profile, then the pages your shoppers type, then citations that match.
No billboard. No daytime broadcast. One map.
Off-premises billboards are prohibited outright here, broadcast is barred from 6am to 10pm, and price advertising is confined to catalogs, your own website and third-party platforms. Read as a buyer rather than a rule, that runs in your favor: the deeper-pocketed rival has almost nowhere left to spend against you. The fight lands instead on the map, your own site and the list you own; we run all three on one contract, report your Share of Local Voice every month, and write the guarantee to your grid, not to the state line.
Most dispensaries rent their marketing from four vendors and hope the pieces talk to each other. They rarely do.
New Jersey's 181 annual retail licenses are chasing the same 9.5 million residents across the only three surfaces a dispensary here can really use, the map, your own site and the list you own, because off-premises billboards are prohibited outright and broadcast is shut from 6am to 10pm, and renting those three surfaces from four vendors who never speak to each other is the dearest way there is to fight for a shopper.
You know the rules you sell under better than any agency does, so this page does not restate them. If you want the references, both are in the library: dispensary advertising rules by state and cannabis marketing compliance.
Your stack is rented from four vendors.
A marketplace listing, a menu vendor, a loyalty or SMS tool and a generic retainer, each with its own login. Fix: one platform (SGEN) and one agency, with the site, the menu and the campaigns in one place.
Local SEO is an upsell tier elsewhere.
The work that puts you in the local pack for "Dispensary Near Me" is often gated behind the top plan. Fix: ranking work is included from the first dollar. Localized on-page SEO, 100+ off-page profiles and Google Business Profile management are in both plans.
Menu traffic leaks to marketplaces.
A shopper who finds your store on a third-party listing is that listing’s customer. Fix: menu-connected SGEN sites keep the order on your domain, with staff updating the menu themselves.
Four invoices, four account managers.
Nobody owns the result. Fix: one point of contact, one monthly report showing what ran, what it cost and what it returned.
Web design and development are included — no separate build fee.
Local SEO, menu-connected websites, email, SMS and loyalty under one contract.
New Frontier Data (2026-06-21) put one operator’s cost per new customer at about $23. So we manage the channel that costs the least per visit: the local pack.
Our currency is Share of Local Voice (SoLV) for "Dispensary Near Me" — the share of local-pack visibility your store holds for that search across its trade area, reported with its window and case page.
The twelve services above are the same in every market; what changes for you here is the scope, and in New Jersey the scope is drawn by a town ordinance and a trade area, never by the state line. Your keyword set, your radius, your pin count and the shape of the report we write you all follow where your shoppers actually come from, and your top-three guarantee is written to that same scope.
If you run one store.
The map you sit on is not the state. A local pack is drawn around the person holding the phone, so of the 181 annual retail licenses the Commission counts statewide, only the handful inside your own trade area can ever take a sale off your till. Which towns any of them may trade in was settled by a town ordinance rather than by the state: municipalities that let the 21 August 2021 opt-out deadline pass have cannabis businesses permitted automatically, and the Commission will not license a store into a town whose ordinance forbids it. So we scope the work to the fight you are actually in — your own keyword set, your own radius, your own Google Business Profile and citation set, and Share of Local Voice for "Dispensary Near Me" reported to you point by point every month. See marketing for the single-location dispensary.
If you run several.
A New Jersey municipality may levy a cannabis transfer tax of up to 2% on your retail sales, plus an equivalent user tax on any business running more than one location inside it, so two of your doors in one town are charged differently from two spread across two towns, and your marketing has to earn that back store by store. The program mirrors the shape: one SGEN domain with a store selector, one page and one Google Business Profile per location, one citation set per address, and a roll-up report carrying a row per store, so a door holding its share and a door quietly losing it are never averaged into one line. The guarantee is written the same way, per location, per keyword set, per radius. See marketing for multi-location dispensaries and MSOs.
If you deliver.
The Commission's August count records a single annual delivery license in the whole state, so whatever shape your delivery takes, you compete on a service-area map rather than on a storefront pin. That map is drawn to the routes you actually run rather than to a town boundary, and we scope it with you on the demo call rather than guess at it from a statewide figure: the keyword set, the radius and the reporting grid all follow the area you serve. Bring that side of the business to the call and we will draw it with you there. See marketing for delivery dispensaries.
Six things you are up against here, what each one costs you, and what we do about it, every one hung on a New Jersey fact rather than a general principle. The offer underneath them does not move: top three in the local pack, guaranteed against a keyword set and radius agreed with you. Each snippet links its guide if you want the method before the call.
Read the New Jersey ad rules as a buying spec
Off-premises billboards are prohibited outright, television, streaming and radio are barred from 6am to 10pm, and price advertising may appear only in catalogs, price lists, your own website and third-party platforms. Read as a warning, that is a list of doors closing. Read as a buying spec, it saves you money twice: you never pay for a placement that cannot run, and you know before the budget is set that the money belongs on the map, on your own site and in the list you own. Those are the three surfaces we run for you under one contract, built to the spec rather than around it. See the guide: dispensary advertising rules by state.
The pin that catches a shopper from a town that said no
A New Jersey town does not issue you a cannabis license; it passes an ordinance saying which classes of business it will have, and the Commission will not license a store into a town whose ordinance forbids it. A resident of one of those towns does not stop buying. She searches from her kitchen and her money crosses the town line to whichever store the map shows her first. The pin that catches her is a Google Business Profile worked every month, category set correctly, hours current, every review answered, menu linked, not one claimed once and left. That work sits in both plans, and it is how a single pin takes a shopper the next town expected to keep. See the guide: Google Business Profile for dispensaries.
Nobody owns the New Jersey map yet
New Jersey licensed its adult-use retail channel under a 2021 statute, and of the 1,697 conditional licenses awarded only 507 have converted so far, so the map you are trying to rank on is still being drawn rather than long settled. That makes this the cheapest month there will ever be to take a position and the dearest one to wait, because every door that lights up inside your radius makes the three positions we guarantee, for your agreed keyword set and radius, harder to move. Dispensary SEO is the order of operations for taking them: the profile, then the pages your shoppers actually type, then citations that match. We start there for you. See the guide: the dispensary SEO guide.
The one place you are allowed to publish a price
New Jersey confines price advertising to catalogs, price lists, your own website and third-party platforms, which makes your own domain one of the few surfaces where you may put a number in front of a shopper, and a marketplace the other. On the marketplace you sit in the same listing format as every rival in the county, undercut by whoever discounted hardest that week, and the customer who orders there belongs to the marketplace; you rent her back next month. A menu-connected site on your own domain keeps the order, the data and the returning shopper with you. The build is included in both of our plans. See the guide: the dispensary website design guide.
43,690 patients who have already chosen a counter
The medicinal program reported 43,690 registered patients, 2,861 caregivers and 1,555 authorized doctors in mid-August, and those are the steadiest buyers in your building: a relationship on a repeat schedule that no rival can take off you by outranking you. They are also the easiest to lose quietly, because nothing warns you when someone simply stops coming. A points or tier structure wired into your POS, with the email and SMS that keep it warm, is what holds them, and that retention layer is the difference between our two plans. See the guide: the dispensary loyalty program guide.
Four invoices, and a town that can tax the till as well
A marketplace listing, a menu tool, a texting platform and an agency retainer each bill you every month whatever your town charges on top, and here that can be up to 2% of your retail sales plus a user tax if you trade from more than one address in it. None of the four vendors talks to the others, so the fixed cost of renting your stack climbs as a share of a till that is being split more ways every quarter. What each rented piece costs, from dated third-party sources, is in the guide. Both of our plans put the site, the ranking work and the reporting on one contract, with the web build included. See the guide: what dispensary marketing costs.

Do you guarantee rankings?
A written top-3 local ranking guarantee — Dispenza’s own offer; the keywords, radius and time window are set in your agreement (see terms). Terms apply. Ask for the guarantee terms on your demo call before you sign anything. The guarantee covers the local keyword set agreed for your trade area, over a defined window.
Which platform are the sites built on?
Built on SGEN — the platform every one of Dispenza’s 500+ dispensary sites runs on. SGEN is Dispenza’s in-house website platform, so the team that hosts your site is the team running your campaigns. Menu-connected sites are built to be updated by staff.
What does it cost?
Pricing is scoped to your locations and both plans above list every module in full, with the site build included and no separate build fee. A quote for your store count takes one demo call. See how pricing works.
Billboards are banned here and broadcast is shut all day. Where does the budget actually go?
Onto the three surfaces that stay open and that a deeper pocket cannot simply outbid you on: the map, your own site and the list you own. Off-premises billboards are prohibited outright and television, streaming and radio are barred from 6am to 10pm, so the money that would have bought those goes on your Google Business Profile, on the pages your shoppers actually type for, and on the email, SMS and loyalty that bring her back. We report to you every month what each of them returned.
My town took its time saying yes to cannabis. Does that change how you scope the work?
It changes the shape of the whole engagement. A town ordinance decides whether a store may open there at all, and the Commission will not license into a town whose ordinance forbids it, but no ordinance stops a resident of that town searching and buying one town over. So the rank grid is drawn across the trade area you actually draw from, the towns with no store in them included, and the keyword set and the radius are agreed with you for that grid before we quote you anything.
How many dispensaries am I really up against?
Fewer than the headline. The Commission's August report counts 181 annual retail licenses statewide, but nobody searches statewide: the local pack is drawn around the person searching, so the fight that matters to you is the handful of doors inside your own radius. We count those with you on the demo call by drawing the rank grid for your trade area, and the top-three guarantee is scoped to that grid rather than to the state.
The Commission has awarded 1,697 conditional licenses across all classes. Does that make top three harder?
It makes waiting dearer rather than the position harder. The pack shows three stores whatever the door count, and not every conditional license becomes a shop — the six business classes plus testing laboratories cover cultivators, manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and delivery as well as retail. What the retail conversions do is put another pin inside somebody's radius, and the earlier your profile and your pages are working, the cheaper that position is to hold. We start with the profile and the pages, and you watch the grid move point by point in the monthly report.
We serve patients as well as adult-use shoppers. Do you market to them differently?
Yes, because they arrive differently. The adult shopper is won on the map, by your pin being one of the three she sees; the 43,690 registered patients in the state are kept by a relationship, a points or tier structure in your POS with the email and SMS that keep it warm. Both run on one contract and land in one report, so you can see which half of your counter is growing. The keyword set, the radius and the window go into the agreement, and the offer on that agreed set is top three in the local pack, guaranteed. Terms apply, and we walk you through them on the demo call before you sign.
Book straight into the calendar. Bring your store count and your address; you leave the call with a quote scoped to your locations and the guarantee terms to read before you sign.
